Russell Jensen

Russell Jensen has more than 20 years’ experience working with CEOs and other business leaders as a consultant, senior manager and human resources professional. As Director of Consulting Services for RSM McGladrey, Inc., he led the firm’s management consulting practice for this region before founding Jensen Consulting in 2002.

Russell’s work with clients has included strategic planning, leadership succession, leadership assessment and development, executive coaching, organization evaluation and design, acquisition integration, as well as effectiveness projects for several boards of directors. He has created and led executive roundtable groups, and has substantial group facilitation experience in a variety of settings. Russell’s experience gives him insight and perspective highly valued by clients.

He is an accredited senior professional in human resources (SPHR) through the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). Russell was honored by SHRM in 2002 with the Eugene J. Paul Award for Excellence in Human Resources. He holds a master’s degree in counseling and personnel services from Drake University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Russell has been actively involved with a number of professional and civic organizations. He currently serves on the Boards of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute and the Des Moines Playhouse, and is a Past President of the Central Iowa Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. Russell mentors youth through coaching youth sports, is active in his church, is a member of Rotary International, and has volunteered his time with several non-profit organizations.
